The scheme introduced a licensing regime that required buskers and street entertainers to obtain a licence to perform within Westminster. It also implemented prohibition of busking and street entertainment anywhere in the city other than by licensed buskers and street entertainers within designated pitches.

A review was undertaken on the buksing and street entertainment licensing policy, conditions and codes of conduct to assess whether there was a need to make any revisions or additions to any of these elements of the licensing regime. The review report proposed a number of recommendations that have been considered and proposals have been put forward for public consultation.

Following the completion of the consultation officers will review the results and finalise the proposals based on the feedback and views provided.
Determination and adoption of final proposals

The Cabinet Member for Communities and Public Protection will consider the consultation responses and the final proposals. Having considered the information and proposals a decision will be made on whether to proceed to adoption.
